Buddy Program – Your local friend to start with!
Arriving in a new country can be overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone! The Buddy Program pairs incoming exchange students with local Poznan students (from PUT, ASP, and AWF) who are ready to help you settle in.
Who is your Buddy (Mentor)?
This is a student from Poznań University of Technology (PUT), the University of Arts (ASP), or the Academy of Physical Education (AWF) who knows the city and student life inside and out. They volunteer for the program because they want to experience new cultures, improve their language skills, and, above all, help you settle into your new place.
What do you gain by participating in the program?
Travel and accommodation assistance: Your Buddy will pick you up from the airport or train station in Poznań and help you safely reach your dorm or apartment.
Formalities support: Purchasing public transport tickets, registering at the university, or shopping for your first year of life – with the help of a local student, you can handle it quickly and without a language barrier.
Poznań behind the scenes: Learn where to eat the best pierogi, where the best student parties are, and how to spend your free time like a local, not a tourist.
24/7 support: Have a question about anything? Your Mentor is the first person you can message on WhatsApp at any time.
Long-term friendship: This isn’t a rigid mentor – they’re your peer, with whom you’ll quickly connect!
